Results of the second artistic exhibition-contest “Our Native Dniestrian
Land”, devoted to the Holiday of Pokrova of Gosh Mother, were summed up today
in the Palace of Culture in Tiraspol.
Members of the Association of
Painters of the Dniester Moldavian Republic presented their best pictures for
religious topic at the exhibition prepared by the Diocese of Tiraspol and
Dubossary, administration of municipal Department of culture, United City
Museum, and the Palace of Culture.
It is worth mentioning that today’s
meeting first of all testifies that the topic of Orthodox religion and
spiritual-moral ideals play important role in creativity of professional
painters. From now on, such exhibitions will become traditional and will be
annually opened on October 14th, the day of celebrating of Pokrova of
Gosh Mother and Tiraspol’s birthday.
The Father Anatoly, a priest of
Tiraspol Christmas Cathedral, by mission of Yustinian, the Bishop of Tiraspol
and Dubossary, handed gifts to all participants of the exhibition and grateful
letters of the Diocese.
By result of the contest, Mikhail
Rudenko was declared the winner, the second place was given to Yury Salko, Vladimir
Mytsykov and Victor Rodovanov shared the third place. On behalf of Vladyka Yustinian, the laureates were handed icons of
Christmas and books from the Diocese library.
Leonid Pirojenko, Chairman of
Association of Painters of the Dniester Moldavian Republic, congratulated his
colleagues with occasion of such high appreciation of their creativity. He also
promulgated the unanimous decision of the Association management board, according
to which, Nikolay Dymchenko, fulfilling duties of the Chief of city Department
of Culture was officially admitted to the Association of Painters of the
republic.
