MAKHSHID FACIO VISITED DNIESTRIA.

On September 26^th, the representative of the International Community Baja (ICB) by the UNO Makhshid Facio visited the Dniester Moldavian Republic. The ICB has the status of a consultant in the organizations ECOSOS and UNICEF, which deal with problems of respecting rights of children, women, with social issues as well as realize projects in these domains under the UNO aegis. In 2000, in New York at the summit of all public associations registered in the UNO the ICB representative was elected the chairman of that forum; this fact testifies the level of authority of the International Community Baja.

Talking about goals of her visit to Dniestria, Makhshid Facio informed to the press agency "Olvia-press" in an interview, "every time when Baja appear in this or that region, they aspire to make possible assistance an contribution in creating a society, where there would be no diversity in either ethnicity or race or religion". In Dniestria, the International Community Baja representative had a meeting with the DMR Presidential Councilor for cults and religion Piotr Zalozhkov and the DMR Presidential Administration chief of department of public associations Boris Shtefan.

Piotr Zalozhkov emphasized, "the visit of the public benefactor of such a level testifies the growth of authority and fame of the DMR throughout the world. Moreover that Makhshid Facio herself asked for the meeting. All politicians and representatives of international public associations, which want to receive objective and reliable information about the Dniester Moldavian Republic, try to come here and appreciate the situation".

During the meeting, Makhshid Facio remarked, "unfortunately, there are religions in the world, which affirm their prevalence by means of violence, extremism, and terrorism. With their actions, they make misbalance in political and economic bases of countries. That's why it is time to involve leaders of religious organizations to the process of working out principles of further conflict-free development of the world community ".

In his turn, Piotr Zalozhkov remarked that principles of founding a society where there would be no place to interethnic and interconfessional strives are close to the Dniestrian people. That's why objectives of the DMR legislative and executive power coincide with principles of development of such a society. "In our state, over 120 religious associations are registered, which represent 18 confessions and currents. Besides, representatives of 36 nationalities live in Dniestria. That's why interethnic and interconfessional strives might be equal to a suicide in our republic", Piotr Zalozhkov emphasized.

Piotr Zalozhkov made a gift to Makhshid Facio: a copy of the DMR Constitution, the book of the DMR President Igor Smirnov 'To Live In Our Land', as well as the book of Anna Volkova "The Leader".

After the meeting, Makhshid Facio visited the Christmas Cathedral of Tiraspol.
